SPENCER ~ His son's death record gives Massachusetts as John's
place of birth. The same source gives his wife's name as
Betsey. One problem with a source like this is that it is
third-hand and may not be correct in any detail. I think this
will take some serious digging in Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode
Island. This has been frustrating for me since it is our primary
line and it appears that John was a very popular first name for
Spencer males in New England.
Possible marriages found in CT that fit the time frame.... John Spencer/Elizabeth Coe, m.
12/16/1807 at Madison, CT Betsey (or Elizabeth?) (______) ~ Her son's death record gives Rhode Island as Betsey's place of birth. See comments above. CHILDREN: John, probably others Research Note - needs much work. |

NORTHUP ~ born about 1792, probably in Rhode Island. He may
be a son or nephew of Gideon Northup and Avis Slocum but I have been
unable to confirm this. He married Lucy Hazard about 1812-1813,
probably in Rhode Island. He died Feb 21, 1875 at Middletown,
RI. This is another line that has resisted "cracking"
- there are a ton of Northup records in Rhode Island, but Joseph seems
to have avoided leaving genealogical tracks.
Lucy HAZARD ~ born about 1794 in Washington County, RI. There are even more Hazards than Northups in Rhode Island and the most popular name seems to have been Thomas, making it difficult to sort Lucy's father from the others. CHILDREN: Joseph, Avis S., possibly others Research Note - Joseph's parentage, specifics about Lucy... |

WOOD ~ born 1806-1810; married Mary Ann Wood Dec 9, 1826 at
Stoughton, MA. Based on Norfolk County probate records regarding
guardianship of the children, Samuel died about 1849, apparently while
serving in the Army.
Mary Ann WOOD ~ born about 1808. I have been unable to find her in the Woods of Norfolk and Bristol counties. CHILDREN: Lorenzo, Roxanna, H. Shepard, Sally Ann, Lucy Ann, Mary Ann, Lysander, George W., Benjamin F., Charles Edwards
Research Note: A check with the Stoughton Town Clerk might produce much of the missing information! |

26, 1835 at Stoughton, MA; died Aug 21, 1873 at Stoughton. Henry
was a boot maker and apparently lived in Stoughton his entire
life. His burial place is unknown, but is almost certainly
Stoughton.

CHILDREN: Rachel Maria, Susan Adalaide, George Henry, John Lyman, Sarah A., Hiram E., Horace Everett, Martha Almira, Elbridge Gardner, Charles Walter Research Note: A check with the Stoughton Town Clerk might produce the missing information! |

HOWARD ~ born Oct 2, 1800 at Bridgewater, MA; married Eliza
Blanchard on his birthday, 1822 at North Bridgewater (Brockton),
MA. He died Jan 1, 1864 at Randolph, MA. Note: There were
two death records for Albert found at the Massachusetts Archives: one
dated 12/30/1863 and one dated 1/1/1864. The first gave kidney
disease/dropsy as the cause of death and the second gave
consumption. I have no explanation. His burial location is
unknown.
Eliza BLANCHARD ~ born Nov 2, 1802 at Stoughton, MA; died Jan 4, 1868 at Boston, MA. Her burial location is also unknown. CHILDREN: Albert, Francis, Eliza Ann, Edwin, Mary Holmes, Jonathan B., Frederick A., Daniel Cary, William Wallace, George Field Research Note: A check with the Randolph Town Clerk could resolve the burial locations. |
